Oakleigh Newsletter 1/10
Dear All.
The snowdrops are out, daffodils sticking heads out of the ground and there is daylight after 6pm - the season is drawing near and we are getting rather excited here.
During the last few months we have been extremely busy getting everything in place for this year. We have the best programme of entertainment for our shows that we have ever had with something for every member of the family thus ensuring that all visitors should stay for longer. New items include cookery demonstrations, wine tastings, childrens farms, more sheep shows, wider range of demonstrators, steam engines, donkeys and ferret racing, clay shooting and helicopter rides. All this on top of the usual horses, dogs, birds of prey and children's entertainment. Please note we do use the programme to move people around the showground and entertain different groups at different times so there are always people in the marquees.
We have been linking up with different media groups in different regions to ensure we receive maximum publicity, we have doubled our investment in roadsigns (where appropriate), and got better deals with local papers to increase bangs per buck! Local councils, tourist information centres and regional websites are being more helpful than ever to spread knowledge of our shows - we think this is a good use of tax payers money!
If you haven't had a good look at our programme please do look at our booking form on this link Prices and sizes are all on the form.
For a quick summary: if you want names - Althorp Estate, Elton Hall, Rockingham Castle, Shugborough Estate, Upton Country Park in Poole, Melford Hall in Suffolk. If you want shows that are the biggest in town - Colchester, Morden, Maidstone, Cambridge, Hastings and Eastbourne. If you want associations with huge established events - Bexley Festival, Dagenham Town Show, Bristol Balloon Fiesta, Northampton Balloon Festival. Associations with established other organisers and their shows - Rougham Airfield, Cambridge Big Day Out, "It's Showtime Rally" (over 7,000 people on one day), Suffolk Horse Spectacular (6,000 on one day). And if you want just good shows come to Wood Green, Westwood Park, Grantchester, Danson Park and Hainault.
For designer makers of a high quality do consider Newmarket in November - we are filling up (no more jewellery) but do have spaces for other products.
Whatever you do this season we hope you have a jolly one, and we also hope to see you at many of our shows.
Kind regards,
Charlie & Emma
