The Grantchester Fair

The Meadows, Grantchester, Cambridgeshire, CB3 9ND

It is unlikely you will ever forget the sight of the river as it gently meanders between the historic 'Backs' of the Cambridge Colleges along the meadows, up to Granchester. For those who don’t know it, Granchester is the quintessential English village and inspiration for Rupert Brooke’s famous poem which includes the lines 'now stands the clock at ten to three and is there honey still for tea?'

The Meadow is framed by the Church and village on one side and the river on the other – a perfect setting for a traditional Country Fair – but within an easy walk, bike or even punt ride from Cambridge City Centre both for residents and tourists who throng the local area at this time of year.

All day family entertainment which may include some of the following: Falconry, working dogs, sheep and goats, duck herding, horses, historical re-enactment and tournaments as well as rural demonstrations. Arts, craft and gift marquees as well as lifestyle and food hall stalls will give you the chance to sample and buy unique products. And for the children - puppet, magic and punch & judy shows as well as fairground and inflatables (charges apply).

Admission charges apply.
