Castle Ashby Craft & Country Show

Castle Ashby, Northamptonshire, NN7 1LQ

Castle Ashby is to relaunch its Country Show this summer and with the new Children's Farmyard, Tea Room, Gift Shop and Plant Centre opening in 2008, the Castle is fast becoming one of the region's most appealing visitor attractions.

'We are very excited to bring back an annual family fun weekend on the Front Drive and look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages to the splendour of Castle Ashby; we are delighted that the show will also enable us to showcase all the new additions to the Estate' says Lord Compton.

The Show, which is being organised on behalf of Lord Compton by Oakleigh Fairs promises something for everyone – from The Famous Sheep Show, through to duck herding using dogs and children, birds of prey and falconry flying displays, the Suffolk Punches, Long Bow demonstrations as well as medieval battle re-enactments, and helicopter rides. Originally, we had hoped to have a Kennel Club dog competition, but unfortunately, they have not been able to provide this at this event due to scheduling conflicts.

Children’s entertainment will include traditional Punch & Judy shows and a children's farm. There will also be inflatables and a childrens’ fairground (charge applies).

Rural demonstrations, including pole lathing and green stick woodworking, rope making as well as chain saw carving will whet your interest in how life was lived in past times.

Then, why not sample, browse and buy unique products in our Arts, Crafts & Gifts marquees, as well as the Lifestyle and Food Hall. The event is fully catered and there is a licensed bar.

Trade stands are available and we welcome interest from Associations and Special Interest Groups who wish to participate.

Admission: £6, Concessions £5, Children £2, Family Ticket £14
