Charlie & Emma Owen took over Oakleigh Fairs in the autumn of 2005 from the previous owners who had developed the business into one of the most successful promoters of craft and country fairs in the South East.

Charlie's career path has seen him serving as an Officer in the Royal Navy, through to the City. But prior to all of this, he spent much of his youth at some of the major shows – Ideal Home, Pub, Club & Leisure, as well as antiques fairs, country and trade shows as a stallholder. He’s now delighted to be on the other side of the fence! Emma’s background, before having their two young daughters, was in advertising and marketing in London.

So, why such a lifestyle change? Well, we want to provide a really good day out for all the family, provide a route to market for small businesses and to engage with local communities – a sort of anti-supermarket approach! This also enables us to work from home and enjoy a work/life balance, a feeling we hope spreads across to the people we work with.

So, what’s new? We have been working hard to develop some exciting new venues, increasing advertising, working with people and organisations from different areas including the Real Food and Lifestyle communities (please see our Links Page). We use technology effectively and treat everyone with the professionalism, yet with a personal approach we all deserve.
